How to repair a black screen of death in Windows OS

The black screen is one of the most confusing problems to solve in computer systems, which may even force the likelihood of completely abandoning the affected device.

Tip #1 - Remove the battery and reset

A dead or failing battery can cause a black screen as the computer get stuck because of getting the wrong power output, especially to computer designed to work as such.

Remove the AC plug from the computer.

Hold the power button for 15 seconds to help clear the cmos battery as well .

Now connect the AC plug and press the power button again.

If the computer boots up normally, login to windows then connect your battery, and let it charge to full capacity before disconnecting the AC plug

Tip #2 - Change corrupted bios (blinking caps lock)

This(bios corruption) is common in hp laptops. and simply solved by getting a copy of the latest bios from the vendor(HP) 's site. Then after running the executable, saving the bootable bios an empty usb drive.

A blinking caps lock is the most noticeable tip to a bios corruption, which can be caused by improper shutdowns and loss of power.

Bios installation is similar to that of installing Windows, and you just follow the onscreen prompts

ONLY INSTALL BIOS WHEN YOU ARE CERTAIN THE POWER WILL NOT GET DISCONNECTED BEFORE YOU FINISH INSTALLATION, SO PREVENT DAMAGING THE MOTHERBOARD FOREVER.

Tip #3 - Test your lcd monitor

Connect your pc to an external monitor to check if you will see anything displayed, which should obviously indicate if your screen is functional or not.

Tip #5 - Change ram chip

A computer will not boot up at all, if you don't have (proper)ram installed. So its always best to ensure the ram chips are in proper place and clean.
